The best way for me to assist you in meeting your goals is to communicate as effectively as possible. I’ll typically ask a lot of questions related to your health, history, and lifestyle to get the most holistic picture of what your body has gone through and what it does on a daily basis. Sometimes these chats can last up to 15 mins, other times it’s pretty quick and to the point, especially if you’re a regular.
I integrate multiple techniques in every session to address Focus session, pain relief/management. Increase ROM. Relaxing, stress reduction, nervous system reset.

A Chat

Enhancements
At this point, if you would like to use any specific enhancements, like hot/cold stones, aromatherapy, cupping, ozone steam or a scalp massage - this is the time to mention it or ask any questions.
Disrobing
I’ll leave the room and you’ll disrobe to your comfort level. If we are doing back and shoulder work, it is best to uncover that area. You’ll get under the covers on the table and will be completely draped. During the session, I will only undrape the part of your body I’m working on.
Talking during a session
Up to you! Some people relax by talking, others prefer to go completely silent. I am okay with whatever. We can chat it up or you can fall asleep for all I care.
That said - There are times I like to guide you to be extremely present with the work we are doing if there is persistent pain present, and that may require we take a break from chatting.
Sometimes talking can be a distraction from being present with uncomfortable sensations in the body…It’s my belief that we need to be fully present with that discomfort in order for healing to take place.
Communicating Pain
Now, if the pain becomes unbearable - say, you feel like you’re having to hold your breath, or clench your teeth to deal with it (that’s too much) - SAY. SOMETHING.
Unfortunately, I can’t read your mind, and I don’t know when some pressure is too much for you. Everyone has a different pain threshold. Even though I try to go in easy at first, there may be other factors causing you to be more sensitive that most.
Please feel free to say “that’s too much”, or “can you come out a bit?”. I will NOT get my feelings hurt.

All of these factor into your comfort and overall experience. I am flexible with every detail and can adjust according to what you prefer - please don’t be shy and say something if you’d like anything changed.
Afterwards
Always drink plenty of water after your session.
Avoid extreme hot or cold temps (baths, showers, ice, etc.).
You may take an anti-inflammatory if we did deep tissue work.Relax. Try to avoid any strenuous activities. Let your body adjust to the therapy.

You can add any of these on when you’re booking your appointment, or if you’re not sure, you can ask about them and add on at the time of your appointment.
